I finally re-organized my craft room so now I have space to be creative again. For a long time now I've only been making cards when I needed one for a birthday or an occasion. I'm looking forward to getting back to creating for the pure joy of it. I started today with this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge (CFC62 Back in Black).
I used SU's Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch and Square Lattice embossing folder (my new favorite!). I punched the triple layer flowers out of each of the three colours, glued all the flowers except the orange center to the black background and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Square Lattice folder. The orange centre is popped up using Dollar store dimensionals. I punched the Word Window, mounted the card front on white and then stamped in the sentiment. Hope you like it...
Stamps: It's Your Day (SU)
Ink: Classic Black (SU)
Paper: Black, Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise (SU), Only Orange and Yoyo Yellow (SU retired)
Accessories: Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch, Word Window punch, Trio Flower punch, Square Lattice embossing folder (all SU), Dollar store stick-on pearls
Love this color combination. Black isn't used very often and I think it's really striking with the other bright colors!
ReplyDeleteLove all those bright colors and the embossing!
ReplyDeleteThese colors really pop against the black background. Nicely done.

ReplyDeleteChrista - I love those colors against the black, and the "inlaid embossing" looks so great! Thank you so much for playing along with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool effect! The bright flowers look amazing embossed onto the black card base, but popping up a single flower was brilliant. Fabulous design! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS-ual Fridays!
