Masculine glitter card
I had a request to include a glitter card in our stamp camp on Sunday. I wanted to keep with the theme of masculine cards so I hope this one fits the bill. Here are the supplies I used:
SU River Rock cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
Double-sided glitter tape (wide version of SU sticky strip, but non-SU) 0 2.1/2" wide
Martha Stewart Fire Opal (light copper colour) and Brownstone (dark copper colour) glitter
Dragon Fly Whale punch
Happy Birthday sentiment is from SU All Holiday's set
SU Chocolate Chip classic ink
Small paint brush
To make this card, stick a strip of the 2 1/2" wide tape along the bottom of the card leaving a small strip of river rock showing. Pull the backing off, being careful not to touch the sticky tape as much as possible. Punch 3 dragon flys from the backing and position them carefully on the tape. When you have them where you want them, make sure that all the edges are stuck down but don't press too hard because you have to remove them later. Cover the tape with the darker copper glitter, shake off excess. Use paint brush to brush excess off the dragon flies. Once all the excess is removed, firmly rub your fingers over the whole area. This buffs the glitter and makes it brighter. Now carefully remove the dragon flies. Cover the dragon flies with the lighter copper colour. Again shake off excess and rub firmly with your fingers. Finally stamp the sentiment on the top right of the card using chocolate chip ink.
Enjoy!
